Torrey
Pines High School Academic Performance Index
In
2001, Torrey Pines received an Academic
Performance Index (API) ranking of 872,
placing us first in San Diego County and
eleventh out of all high schools in the
state of California. The California Department
of Education computes the API by combining
Stanford-9 (STAR) test results for all subjects
for grades 9-11 into a single composite
score ranging from 200 to 1,000.

SAT and ACT scores
From 1997 to 2001, Torrey High school students
SAT and ACT scores exceeded district, county
and state averages. For example, in 2001,
the average verbal SAT score was 561, compared
to 503 in San Diego County, 498 in California,
and 506 nationwide. In the same year, the
average math SAT score was 601, compared to
521 in San Diego County, 517 in California,
and 506 nationwide. |
